EAGLE FORUM ANNOUNCES TWO NEW STATE PRESIDENTS. Phyllis
Schlafly announces that longtime Eagle Pat Andrews, now of Sanibel,
Florida, will take over as Florida Eagle Forum President, replacing our
dearly beloved Carole Griffin of Tallahassee who has been such a
marvelous spokesman for so many years, but who recently passed away.
Pat Andrews has a long record of service to the conservative cause in
Missouri as well as in Florida. Phyllis also announces that longtime
Eagle Pat Carlson, who has served with distinction as Texas Eagle Forum
President, and has done outstanding work in attending and reporting on
United Nations conferences all over the world, has resigned to run for
the Texas State Legislature. Phyllis has appointed Cathie Adams to take
over the big task of Texas State President. Cathie is well known to
Eagles all over Texas and the country because she served in that
position for years before Pat Carlson's tenure. You will be hearing more
from and about these two outstanding leaders. We are so proud of the
high caliber and abilities of our State Presidents.
EAGLE FORUM SOUNDS THE ALERT: 'AMENDMENTS CONVENTION' UP FOR A VOTE ON ARIZONA SENATE FLOOR AS EARLY AS MONDAY. Whatever
name you give it, using Article V to call a convention for the
consideration of Amendments is a bad idea. Fears that America is so far
gone that only a Constitution Convention is the way to fix it ignores
that the same leaders who vote for unbalanced budgets and bad ideas will
be first in line to be delegates along with the Occupy Movement and
many other factions. James Madison warned that a convention to amend the
Constitution "would be courted by the most violent partisans on both
sides ... [and] no doubt contain individuals of insidious views..." Keep
an eye out for both the National Popular Vote and "Article V"
Convention bills in your state and alert Janine Hansen, Eagle Forum
National Issues Chairman ASAP:

A ROCKFORD, IL ABORTION BUSINESS, OPEN SINCE 1973, SHUTS DOWN. After
the abortion provider failed health and safety inspections, the
Illinois Department of Public Health ordered an emergency suspension of
the clinic's license Sept. 30. It has not taken appointments since Sept.
30, and is closing for good because of lack of support from the
community, the political climate surrounding the abortion issue and the
challenge the clinic would face in rebuilding staff according to an
email its owners sent to the Rockford Register Star as the reason for
permanently closing their business. Many other abortion facilities in
Illinois have not been inspected for years, according Eric Scheidler,
executive director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League.

SANTORUM WINS IOWA CAUCUSES WITH A 34-VOTE ADVANTAGE AFTER CERTIFICATION. The
biggest shifts in the vote totals happened in Fayette County after two
typos in precinct voting totals were corrected, and gave Rick Santorum
more votes than the entire gap in the statewide certified total.
